ORDER TIMELINE & FULFILLMENT Because every FERNFAWN portrait is a custom-commissioned artwork, our fulfillment process is divided into distinct stages. The production and shipping timelines commence only after you explicitly approve your digital proof.
1. The Design Phase (Before Approval) Within 1-2 business days of placing your order, we will email you a digital proof for review. Production does not begin until we receive your final approval. Total delivery time equals Proof Time + Revision Time (if requested) + Production & Shipping Time.
2. Production & Transit Times (After Approval) All stated timelines are estimated business days (Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays). • Australia: 7-12 business days total (Metro areas are typically faster; Regional, WA, and NT may require the full timeframe). • United States: 5-10 business days total • United Kingdom: 5-10 business days total • Canada: 7-12 business days total • Europe (EU): 7-14 business days total • Rest of World: 9-19 business days total
Note: These are reliable estimates based on typical performance. Actual times may vary due to carrier network delays, severe weather, or high order volumes.
LOCAL PRODUCTION & ROUTING CONTINGENCY To ensure expedited delivery and minimize our carbon footprint, your portrait is printed at the premium production facility nearest to your delivery address. Our print network operates in over 30 countries, including Australia, the US, UK, Canada, and across Europe. This means the vast majority of orders are produced domestically and never cross international borders.
Smart Routing Protocol: In the rare event of a localized material shortage (e.g., a specific wooden frame out of stock in the Australian facility) or peak capacity limits, our automated routing system will dispatch your order to the next closest global facility. This protocol ensures your artwork is never unnecessarily delayed, at absolutely no additional shipping cost to you.
SHIPPING COSTS & TRACKING Standard tracked shipping is included on all orders to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. Shipping costs for other international destinations are calculated dynamically and displayed at checkout. Upon dispatch, you will receive a confirmation email containing a tracking link. Please allow 24-48 hours for the carrier's tracking system to update.
P.O. BOXES & PARCEL LOCKERS While we can deliver unframed prints to P.O. Boxes, our courier partners typically cannot deliver large Framed Prints or Canvases to P.O. Boxes or Parcel Lockers due to size restrictions. Please provide a physical residential or business address at checkout to prevent delivery failures.
CUSTOMS, DUTIES & TAXES • US, UK, CA, AU & EU: Due to our localized printing infrastructure, orders shipped within these jurisdictions are typically fulfilled domestically. You will not incur customs fees. In the rare event of cross-border routing within these zones, shipping is arranged on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis. • Rest of World: Orders shipped outside our core local-print network may be subject to import duties, customs tariffs, or value-added taxes (VAT). These charges are mandated by the destination country's government and remain the sole responsibility of the recipient. FERNFAWN cannot predict or control these fees.
DIGITAL FILE DELIVERY Digital-only files are delivered directly to your email in high resolution within 24 hours of your final proof approval. No physical shipment is involved.
HOLIDAY & PEAK SEASONS During major gifting periods (November, December, etc.), production and shipping networks experience high volume. We recommend ordering early. Official holiday cutoff dates will be announced on our homepage.
DELAYS & EXCEPTIONS All delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. If severe logistical disruptions prevent us from fulfilling your order within a reasonable timeframe, we will proactively contact you with an updated estimate. You will be offered the option to wait or cancel for a full refund, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, including the FTC Mail Order Rule and Australian Consumer Law.
ADDRESS ACCURACY Customers are strictly responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. If a package is returned to our facility, deemed undeliverable, or abandoned due to an incorrect address, missing unit number, or failure to collect from a local depot, FERNFAWN is not liable for a refund. Reshipping the item will incur a secondary transit fee at the customer's expense.
